SEOUL, April 19 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean telecom giant KT Corp. said Sunday that it began an AI (artificial intelligence) Robot Mail Delivery Service for management staff working at the company’s main headquarters.
Previously, the support center notified employees when there was a delivery, and each staff member had to visit the center to pick the mail or parcel up.
The newly introduced AI robot replaces all these tasks by delivering mail to the staff members directly.
A support center employee will first load the delivery on the robot and type in the delivery destination, after which the robot will navigate to the elevator and locate its destination.
It is the company’s first effort to use an AI robot for an indoor delivery service, KT said.
