SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Korea Bizwire) – Suhyup Bank announced yesterday that it was adopting a new service that allows customers to access their bank accounts via ATM by merely having the machines scan the veins in their palms.
The banking service dubbed “Hands Up banking” is possible when customers are verified simply by presenting their palms.
The technology known as “vein matchmaking” utilizes the fact that no two palm vein patterns are the same, making it difficult for culprits to beat the system.
The technology is also known to be much more secure than other self-verification methods using biometrics.
A Suhyup official said that the bank plans to apply the biometrics-based verification system to its teller services as well in the future.
“We will continuously expand our services so that even senior citizens can have easier access to digitalized financial services,” said the official.

Thanks for helping me understand that there are ATM cash services that would be able to be more secure than other systems out there. With that in mind, establishments planning to have ATM cash services installed in their property should pick the ones with machines that have the best security feature. This will give consumers the sense of security or peace of mind that they can safely withdraw money any time of the day.
