JEJU, Nov. 11 (Korea Bizwire) — Visitors to Jeju Island will be able to enjoy contactless tourism despite the coronavirus.
Starting on Nov. 23, the Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) will be offering an advanced real-time population mapping service based on big data analysis to ensure a safer tourism environment for travelers.
The new map will update every five minutes using SK Telecom’s base station data for both locals and visitors on Jeju, sorted by gender, age and location.
Tourists will be able to visualize real-time information on populated areas, places with peaking concentration levels in the previous three hours, and popularity based on daily statistics.
The map will be available on Visit Jeju, JTO’s official tourism information webpage, and via a mobile application.
