SEOUL, Dec.10 (Korea Bizwire) – Seoul National University’s Bundang Hospital in collaboration with SK Telecom and EZCaretech signed an agreement to export a Clinical Data Warehouse (CDW) to King Abdulaziz Medical City Riyadh, one of the most prestigious hospitals in Saudi Arabia, for $1.3 million.
A CDW is a solution that can be used to diagnose patients, and for medical research purposes. It contains information on patients gathered for the past 10 years, and can process it in the way one wants within seconds.
Officials from the Seoul National University Bundang Hospital said that at first, the hospital signed an agreement to export hospital information systems worth 700 million won to six hospitals operating under the National Defense of Saudi Arabia. However, Saudi authorities suggested an additional agreement for the CDW.
Hospital officials also mentioned that the case showed that Korea has potential in the big data processing field.
