BUSAN, May 3 (Korea Bizwire) — The Busan Museum of Art in Busan has announced that it will host a participatory exhibition in the Children’s Gallery, featuring a collaboration between an artist and children from Thursday until Dec. 17.
The exhibition will display 12 new artworks by the artist Kim Hong-seok and will be held in a participatory format, in which children can create their own works using styrofoam at a workspace inside the exhibition hall.
The works created by the children will be displayed in a separate space.
Kim creates artwork using lightweight and fragile styrofoam, prompting people to rethink the concept of art.
The museum stated that children’s imaginative thinking, messiness, and freewheeling creativity during the artwork production process can help them expand their own perspective on art and have a better understanding of contemporary art.
