SEOUL, Aug. 18 (Korea Bizwire) — Children from multicultural families feel stronger pride as South Koreans than those who are not, a recent study revealed.
The charity group ChildFund Korea conducted a survey of 200 middle school students from Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, 78.2 percent of whom strongly agreed that they ‘want to be South Korean more than any other nationality.’
On the other hand, only 60.2 percent of children from non-multicultural families answered likewise.
More children from multicultural families were ‘proud to be living in South Korea’ and wanted ‘to live in South Korea from now on’ than those from non-multicultural families.
They also had stronger trust towards South Korean society in general.
The survey revealed their outstanding capacity to adjust to South Korean society, while society itself was less inclusive.
