SEOUL, Nov. 29 (Korea Bizwire) – Taking place Tuesday in Seoul’s Seongdong District Office was the ceremony for opening thousands of piggy banks donated by some 3,400 children from 60 kindergartens in the district, a campaign that began 20 years ago.

The ceremony was attended by 500 kindergarten children, faculty, and district officials.

“The event will help children understand the importance of looking after and sharing love with neighbors, while experiencing the joy of frugality,” said district chief Jeong Won-o.

A total of 22,557,000 won ($19,307) was donated in 2015.
