SEOUL, June 24 (Korea Bizwire) – Before the commercial sales of its new bio-methionine product “L-Methionine,” CJ CheilJedang held a discussion forum to inform the strengths of the product and set up a marketing strategy with the world’s renowned scientists.
CJ held the first Amino Acid Forum in Animal Nutrition at CJ Human Ville in Seoul for three days starting from June 23. During the forum, CJ will discuss the future direction of amino acid for animal nutrition with 11 of world-renowned scholars in the livestock industry from China, Europe, Thailand and the U.S., as well as Korea.
Also, the company will publicize the excellence of its new product “L-Methionine,” developed through eco-friendly bio-fermentation technology for the first time in the world.
Through the forum, CJ plans to reaffirm its status as the No. 1 green biotech company by reinforcing the network with the world’s experts.
Especially, it expects that the forum will publicize the effectiveness of its new product with higher “relative bioavailability” of 20-40 percent higher than “DL-Methionine” made chemically from petroleum and its eco-friendliness.
Kim Chul-ha, CEO of CJ CheilJedang, said, “Through the forum, we will discuss the future direction of amino acid for animal feed and lead the market by starting R&D projects faster than any other rival companies. By sharing the strengths of L-Methionine with renowned scholars, we expect to see a shift of power in the Methionine market.”
Meanwhile, together with lysine (US$4 billion), methionine takes the biggest portion in the total essential amino acids market for animal nutrition with $5 billion of market size. It is considered as a higher value-added business as others excluding some leading companies are unable to advance into the market due to the high entry barrier of even in chemical process technology development, not to mention CJ’s eco-friendly bio-fermentation technology.
CJ recently succeeded in the production of “L-Methionine” made of crude sugar and glucose after eight years of R&D efforts for the first time in the world.
