SEOUL, March 5 (Korea Bizwire)Companies that have introduced blind recruitment policies generally seem to be satisfied with the results.

According to a recent survey of 554 people in charge of human resources conducted by job search portal JobKorea, 42 percent of companies that introduced blind recruitment said they were satisfied with the hiring results compared to before these policies were implemented.

Among the surveyed companies, 57.6 percent adopted blind recruitment. Some 35.2 percent of the respondents said they had adopted the process in hiring some employees or for particular positions, including new recruits.

However, due to the controversy over the purpose of blind recruitment, the implementation of such policies has not been as widespread as might have been expected.

Some 31.9 percent of the companies that said they “very much agree” with the purpose of blind recruitment, and 40.2 percent of those who “somewhat” agreed said they actually did not introduce the method.

Opinions were also divided on the effect of blind recruitment.

While 39.2 percent of the companies that used blind recruitment answered that hiring procedures were simplified and time decreased, 38.9 percent said hiring procedures were complicated and time increased.

Nevertheless, the majority of companies are expected to maintain or expand blind recruitment at the current level.

While more than half of companies that introduced blind recruitment said they would maintain their current level, which accounted for 50.8 percent, 27.6 percent said they would make use of it more than now.
