HAENAM, June 2 (Korea Bizwire) — Empty granaries in rural areas are being transformed into vibrant spaces that embrace the ideas of young entrepreneurs.
In the southwestern county of Haenam, a recent initiative has been launched to renovate vacant areas and provide them to young people for their business ventures.
Among the two granaries, one has been repurposed into an indoor baseball practice field, covering an area of 330 square meters.
Equipped with a pitching machine, this facility allows for unrestricted hitting and pitching training, regardless of weather conditions or location
Furthermore, the facility has implemented a rental system, enabling users to engage in regular training sessions.
The remaining 165 square meters of space have been dedicated to creating a healing environment that combines gardening and a café, offering a range of gardening experiences.
“This project aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by young entrepreneurs in the early stages of their business operations while simultaneously enhancing the visual appeal of rural areas by utilizing vacant spaces in agricultural villages,” a county official said.
