Fashion Companies Release String of Eco-friendly Material Clothes

SEOUL, April 14 (Korea Bizwire)With an increasing number of companies strengthening their ESG (environmental, social and governance) management, fashion companies are also releasing a string of eco-friendly products.

Kolon Sport, an outdoor brand run by South Korean clothing firm Kolon Industry FnC, developed a renewable nylon material dubbed ‘Kolon Nylon,’ and made use of it for some of its brand-new spring and summer season products.

Kolon Nylon is a 100 percent recyclable material that was developed jointly by Kolon Sport, Kolon Global, and Italian nylon maker Aquafil.

Kolon Sport used the newly-developed material for 10 styles, including vests, jackets and pants among its SS products.

SPAO, a specialty retailers of private label apparel (SPA) brand run by E-Land World, launched sales of recyclable denim made of eco-friendly Turkish fabric. In February, Spao also released an ‘Eco Leather’ product using fake leather.

Early this month, outdoor fashion brand Black Yak rolled out the ‘PLUStIC collection’ consisting of T-shirts, jackets and pants that are made of PET bottles, a first in the country. Each product is made of 15 to 30 recycled 500-milliliter PET bottles.
