SEOUL, Oct. 18 (Korea Bizwire) –Ferrari, the Italian luxury sports car manufacturer, has unveiled its first new supercar in 11 years, marking a significant moment in the company’s illustrious history.

On October 17, at its headquarters in Maranello, Ferrari presented the F80, a limited-edition supercar that the company says will set new standards in its product line. Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s chief marketing officer, expressed confidence in the vehicle’s potential, stating, “This car elevates the benchmark for our product range. It will make history in the coming years.”

While the term “supercar” is often used broadly to describe high-performance sports cars, Ferrari reserves this designation exclusively for its limited-edition, top-tier models. Previous Ferrari supercars include the 1984 GTO, the 2002 Enzo, and the 2013 LaFerrari.

The F80 boasts impressive specifications, featuring a 1,200-horsepower, six-cylinder hybrid engine. With a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour, it is set to become the most expensive model in Ferrari’s history. Production will be limited to just 799 units.

Despite its starting price of 3.6 million euros, Ferrari reports that all 799 units have already been reserved. If sold at the base price, this limited run could generate total revenue of about 2.88 billion euros for the iconic Italian automaker.

The F80′s debut comes as Ferrari prepares to enter the electric vehicle market. Last month, CEO Benedetto Vigna announced that the company’s first electric car is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of next year.
