Gen Z in S. Korea Prefers Spontaneous Relationships

SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Korea Bizwire)Generation Z in South Korea prefers spontaneous relationships based on self-initiating actions.

Dating app operator WIPPY analyzed the profiles and behavioral data of around 345,000 members in their 20s, which revealed that they used the expressions ‘now,’ ‘immediately,’ and ‘after work’ 1.5 times more frequently than those in their 30s.

Additionally, 92 percent of the members in their 20s included their Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) category, a self-report personality test, on their profiles.

The most common MBTI type was ENFP (campaigner personality), accounting for 11 percent. The inherent preference of ENFPs for extensive networking and activity is reflected in their robust online presence.

Regarding the desired personality traits in a friend, members mentioned that ‘engaging in wholesome conversations’ is most important, indicating their prioritization of empathy and communication in their relationships.

Even in romantic relationships, 47 percent said that communication is the most important factor.
