SEOUL, Dec. 24 (Korea Bizwire)The Ministry of Science and ICT conducted written tests for experts in 3D printer development and 3D printer operation on December 22, in 15 different cities across South Korea, including Seoul.

This is the first time that certification tests have been held for 3D printing. Approximately 500 candidates applied for certification in the field of 3D printer development, and 3100 for 3D printer operation.

The 3D printer development technician’s test evaluates whether candidates can develop and manage 3D printer circuits, machinery and programs.

On the other hand, for 3D printer operation, the test examines whether candidates have the ability to manufacture a product using a 3D printer.

The passing grade in each of the tests is 60 out of 100. Those who pass the exam will be announced in January and will write a performance test in June or July of next year.
