IIAC Named Most Desirable Public Enterprise for College Students for 7th Consecutive Year

SEOUL, Aug. 9 (Korea Bizwire) – Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) has been selected as the “Most Desirable Public Enterprise for College Students” for the seventh consecutive year, according to a survey conducted by HR tech company Incruit.

The survey, which polled 962 college students nationwide who are currently seeking employment, found that 14.3% of respondents chose IIAC as their top choice.

The survey targeted 32 market-type and quasi-market-type institutions listed on the Public Institution Management Information System (ALIO).

When asked why they selected IIAC, 23.2% of respondents cited the company’s leading image in the industry and local community, followed by interest in the industry (15.2%), pride as a member of the organization (14.5%), and satisfactory salary and compensation system (12.3%).

The Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) ranked second for the seventh consecutive year, with 8.7% of respondents choosing the company. KEPCO’s leading image in the industry (22.6%) and job stability (22.6%) were the main reasons for its selection.

According to ALIO, KEPCO’s average length of service as of 2023 was 187 months.

The Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) climbed one spot from last year’s survey to take third place, with 6.8% of respondents selecting the company. The main reason for choosing KAC was pride as a member of the organization (30.8%).

The Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) ranked fourth, dropping one spot from the previous year, with 6.2% of respondents selecting the company.

Other top-ranking public enterprises included the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) at 5.7%, the Korea Racing Authority (KRA) at 5%, and the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation (KOBACO) at 4.7%.

The Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) at 8th place with 4.5%, Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) at 9th place with 3.5%, and Kangwon Land Inc. at 10th place with 3.4% were new additions to the top 10 list.

When analyzed by gender, male respondents preferred KEPCO (11.6%), IIAC (9.4%), KORAIL (6.6%), the Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) (5.8%), and KOMSCO (5.5%), in that order.

Female respondents, on the other hand, chose IIAC (17.4%) as their most desirable public enterprise, followed by KAC (8.0%), KEPCO (7.0%), KORAIL (6.0%), and KOMSCO (5.8%).
