A member of the Arts Council Korea said, “When compared to the results of past studies, which were skewed towards Seoul and the major urban areas, the recent report can be interpreted as indicating that the boundaries of arts productions are widening from key cities towards outer regions’ midpoints of culture.”

As a whole, the number of arts productions in South Korea climbed by 7.3 percent to 46,101 in 2016.
