SEOUL, May 16 (Korea Bizwire) — Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) has announced its plans to release a second commemorative medal to celebrate the 10th anniversary of BTS’s debut this year.
Last December, the Mint unveiled the first commemorative medal, adorned with the BTS logo and the number 10. It proved to be an unprecedented success, selling over 10,000 copies (worth 6 billion won) and becoming the Mint’s highest-selling commemorative medal to date.
Of particular note, the 1-ounce gold medal, limited to just 1,000 pieces, sold out within a mere two hours of its release on the Wevershop e-commerce platform. The Mint is currently in the final stages of designing the second commemorative medal, which will showcase individual portraits of all the BTS members, utilizing innovative new technologies.
