Seoul, July 05 (Korea Biz Wire) The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization have jointly launched a website “Korea Nooks and Crannies” (summer.visitkorea.or.kr) for the summer vacation season, offering a wealth of travel information for those planning a getaway. The two government agencies will focus on promoting not-well-publicized destinations so that vacationers don’t flock to a few famous locations.
The website will provide travel information in many different formats: for example, it will organize tourism opportunities by theme, including eco-tourism, forest experience, rural village experience, camping, train trip, traditional market, walking/bike trip, and so on.
If one selects the eco-tourism menu, it will show up information on natural recreational forests where families can relax in clean, cool air. For example, the national parks of Mt. Chiak (Wonju), Mt. Odae (Pyeongchang), and South Sea islands (Namhae) offer visitors inexpensive opportunities to enjoy vacation while healing their minds and bodies.
