SEOUL, Oct. 9 (Korea Bizwire) –LG Electronics is set to present its cutting-edge autonomous driving-based traffic safety solution, Soft V2X, to a global audience of urban planners and city officials at an upcoming technology expo in Seoul.
The South Korean tech giant will participate in Smart Life Week (SLW), an information and communications technology (ICT) fair hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government from October 10 to 12 at COEX in Gangnam District.
LG’s exhibit, themed “My Safe City Realized Through Integrated Traffic Safety Solutions,” will spotlight next-generation Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication technology. The company plans to demonstrate its Soft V2X and Smart Roadside Unit (RSU) technologies, showcasing results from pilot projects and offering visitors hands-on experiences.
Soft V2X is a cloud-based service that collects and analyzes anonymized data on pedestrian and vehicle positions, directions, and speeds. It selectively provides real-time traffic safety information to users predicted to be at risk. When integrated with Smart RSU, the system can ensure safety for users without the Soft V2X app and provide crucial information for the safe operation of connected and autonomous vehicles.
With representatives from 115 cities across 72 countries expected to attend, LG aims to present a vision for smart city development utilizing its advanced traffic safety integrated solutions. The company sees the event as an opportunity to strengthen its network with domestic and international smart city stakeholders, infrastructure operators, and mobility solution providers, potentially leading to new business opportunities.
In addition to its traffic safety solutions, LG has prepared a separate space showcasing its smart home technologies, integrating living and kitchen solutions. Visitors can experience an AI-powered smart home environment by moving through a simulated house, complete with an entrance, kitchen, living room, and bedroom.
