SEOUL, April 17 (Korea Bizwire) — The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters announced plans for a new cheering campaign for medical staff fighting on the frontlines against the coronavirus, an initiative that was scheduled to being on Thursday.
The campaign, titled the ‘Thanks to You Challenge’, aims to thank the medical staff leading the charge in the fight against the coronavirus.
The campaign’s logo was based on the sign language gestures for the words ‘respect’ and ‘pride’.
Anyone can participate in the campaign by posting a photo of themselves using the sign language.
The government plans to use the logo to make badges and distribute them to all participants and the medical staff, and use campaign videos and images to make a ‘thank you’ video.
“We would like to send our sincerest appreciation to all the medical staff who did not hesitate to run to the field and make best efforts to fight the coronavirus in spite of the risk of infection,” said Vice Health Minister Kim Gang-lip.
