Multinational Company to Build Shopping Mall near Landfill

INCHEON, Jan.22 (Korea Bizwire)A multinational shopping mall operator and real estate developer has announced its intentions to build a large shopping mall near a landfill site in Incheon.

Government authorities met Marc Vaturi, Vice President of Triple Five Group, and discussed the establishment of the theme park/shopping mall complex.

Triple Five submitted an investment bid on January 13 to build a shopping mall with an indoor theme park near a landfill site in Incheon. The project is expected to cost up to one billion won.

Vaturi and his party visited Incheon on January 20 and explained their investment plans to Incheon mayor Yoo Jeong-bok.

Triple Five Group currently manages some of the largest shopping malls in the world, including Mall of America in Minnesota, and the West Edmonton Mall in Canada.

Prior to the event, Triple Five signed an MOU with Incheon in 2012 to build a shopping mall on Yeongjong Island. However, the business plan was withdrawn because of circumstances at the time.
