SEOUL, Feb. 22 (Korea Bizwire) – During its “Naver Connect 2018” business strategy presentation on February 21, the operator of South Korea’s predominant search engine announced a number of advanced technological features to be released in order to aid small businesses and content creators.
Small retail enterprises that conduct business on Naver’s shopping platform will be able to make use of a “search keyword automatic recommendation” service.
For example, if an online clothing store uploads a post of a dress, the website will autonomously generate popular keywords such as #longonepiece.
Also available to small clothing retailers is a “fashion coordinator” feature that recommends products that match the articles of clothing uploaded to Naver Shopping.
In addition, Naver will institute a simplified verbal command payment system that processes transactions when issued verbal commands.
For content creators and vloggers, Naver has prepared Prism Live Studio, which enables video streamers to decorate their screens in real time.
To better track the efficiency of their spending on advertising, Naver will provide small businesses that pay for its search advertisements and digital ads with calculated return on advertising spend (ROAS) data.
Besides discussing the various technologies, CEO Han Seong-sook said the company will look to spend the year redefining its social role and responsibility while focusing on the customer and technology.
While Naver posted record-setting earnings last year, it was also at the center of a controversy over allegations that comments posted on its news platform were artificially manipulated.
Han said Naver is continuing to consider how customers can participate in the process of formulating company policy, expressing her belief that the day when a service can be created solely through discussion with a committee of experts is now in the past.
