SEOUL, Oct. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean video game giant NCSOFT Corp., stricken with criticism over newly released game and a plunging share price, is yet again facing a sexual harassment case.
An anonymous whistleblower at the company posted on Blind, an anonymous community of employed workers, that “certain individuals notorious for committing sexual harassment are freely going about their business in NCSOFT’s entertainment department.”
The post accused the company’s employees of a series of sexual harassment incidents against female subordinates, which resulted in four women quitting the company.
The anonymous whistleblower went further to argue that NCSOFT’s ethics management department falls short of carrying out its responsibilities.
In response, NCSOFT conducted a probe and confirmed some of the accusations, and is preparing to take penal measures.
“We are currently undergoing investigations to prevent similar cases from recurring in the future. We plan to take additional penal action based on the facts collected,” a company official said.
