SEOUL, July 13 (Korea Bizwire) — More than half of South Koreans intend to travel despite financial limitations, a travel fare website said Wednesday.
Skyscanner conducted a survey of 1,000 Koreans over the age of 18, 54 percent of whom expressed the intention to travel even with financial constraints.
Among the respondents, 61 percent stated they would utilize leftover money from previous trips for another journey, while 35 percent planned to allocate it for other purposes such as savings or shopping.
A majority of the respondents, 86 percent, expressed their intent to increase their budget or adjust their travel schedule to ensure a memorable experience at their chosen destination.
Additionally, 40 percent of Koreans revealed their plan to embark on solo trips.
When categorized by age, 64 percent of individuals between 35 and 44 years old intended to travel alone, in comparison to 49 percent of those aged between 25 and 35, and 47 percent of individuals aged 65 and above.
“Koreans are enthusiastic about travel. They seek meaningful value from their cost-effective trips,” an official from Skyscanner said.
