SEOUL, Nov. 24 (Korea Bizwire) — The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Wednesday that South Korean companies held a joint demonstration of urban air mobility (UAM) aircraft at Gimpo Ara Marina in western Seoul.
A UAM flight demonstration by local startups V Space and Voltline took place as part of the proceedings.
The event, celebrating its third anniversary, invited South Korean aircraft for the very first time.
Chinese aircraft were brought in for demonstration in 2020 and German aircraft in 2021.
The UAM aircraft designed by V Space has a maximum takeoff weight of 250 kilograms, and is capable of flying for 15 minutes at speeds of up to 95 km/h.
Voltline’s UAM aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 300 kilograms, and can fly at speeds of up to 90 km/h for 20 minutes.
At this year’s event, vertiports were set up inside a building for UAM aircraft to depart from and land at.
