S. Korea’s First AI Songwriter to Unveil Music Piece at Gwangju Design Biennale

GWANGJU, Sept. 2 (Korea Bizwire)South Korea’s first artificial intelligence (AI) songwriter EvoM will be showcasing a music piece in the AI exhibition hall at the Gwangju Design Biennale 2021, which began on Wednesday for a two-month run in Gwangju, 330 kilometers south of Seoul.

Visitors can write songs with EvoM using MUSIA, the AI composition assistance service, which are then played live by a self-playing piano.

Soprano Nam Ha-rin will also unveil ‘Gray Rainbow,’ a musical piece written by EvoM, at the opening ceremony.

“Ironically, an AI songwriter such as EvoM has written a song that touches upon the hearts of human beings,” said Prof. Ahn Chang-wook from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, who spearheaded the AI composition project.

“AI is no longer a heartless machine, but our friend, colleague, and a new being of future coexistence.”
