SEOUL, Nov. 5 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics Co. announced that it will support three startups created by Samsung employees as part of the company’s in-house venture incubation program, C-Lab Inside.
C-Lab Inside was introduced in 2012 to promote a creative corporate culture as well as to explore employees’ innovative ideas.
The three startups that will be spun off from Samsung are Becon, Yellosis and VibeZone.
Becon is a self-care solution that enables easy diagnosis and prevention of hair loss at home, while Yellosis is a home IoT (Internet of Things)-based urine inspection system that helps systematic health management and VibeZone is a specialist in development of IoT devices and platforms that connect people to people.
Since the C-Lab Spinoff system was introduced in 2015, Samsung has provided startups with the investment needed to help them grow.
In addition, Samsung also provides a five-year window during which employees who launch startups can return to their old job if their endeavors prove unsuccessful.
Thus far, as many as 171 employees have established a total of 48 startups since the inception of the C-Lab program.
