SEOUL, Jul. 26 (Korea Bizwire) – In a recent survey, Samsung Galaxy users reported nearly identical satisfaction levels to those of Apple iPhone users, signaling a significant shift in the smartphone market dynamics.

According to a mobile communications survey conducted by Consumer Insight, a market research firm, the overall satisfaction score for Samsung’s Galaxy S series reached 705 points out of 1,000, just one point behind the iPhone’s 706 points.

The study, which surveyed 6,118 individuals who purchased mobile phones in the past six months, focused on comparing satisfaction levels between the latest models: the Galaxy S24 and iPhone 15 series.

Researchers evaluated ten key aspects of the devices, including size, weight, grip comfort, design, user interface, screen quality, and resolution.

This narrow gap represents a dramatic turnaround for Samsung. Over the past five years, the Galaxy S series has experienced fluctuations in user satisfaction. In 2020, it came close to matching the iPhone, with only a four-point difference (714 for Galaxy S vs. 718 for iPhone). However, the gap widened significantly to 95 points in 2022 due to the underperformance of the S22 series. The release of the S23 series last year helped Samsung regain ground, reducing the difference to 33 points.

The latest Galaxy S24, released in the first half of this year, maintained its predecessor’s scores in areas such as cutting-edge technology, durability, size, weight, and grip comfort. However, it saw slight declines of one or two points across the other seven categories.

Interestingly, the iPhone experienced a more substantial drop in satisfaction, with a 43-point decrease compared to its previous model.

When comparing the two latest offerings, the Galaxy S24, marketed as an AI smartphone, outperformed the iPhone 15 by 4 points in the category of cutting-edge technology satisfaction (74 points vs. 70 points). This represents the largest gap between the two devices across all ten categories surveyed.
