Sometimes, we feel like having a full-day off in a serene and picturesque countryside, like one seen in the picture in Yangdong Folk Village in Gyeongju.
We can be relieved to find these houses thatched with straw, common way of living mode in the traditional Korean villages. What about a drive from the city into these slow countriside for a weekend?
Today, some 500 people still live in Gyeongju Yangdong Folk Village in 160 tile and thatched-roof houses. Some 54 of the houses are over 200 years old.
