SEOUL, May 17 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean telecom giant SK Telecom Co. on Monday released the Android open beta version of A., an artificial intelligence (AI) service that grows through dialogue with users.
On behalf of users, A. takes care of cumbersome tasks such as schedule management, phone calls and text messages that users can encounter while using smartphones. In addition, it also recommends and plays music and videos that they might like.
Users can choose the external look of a character on the basis of five basic settings, reflecting their areas of interest and personal taste in music and videos and then set the tone, voice and name of the AI character.
Through voice conversations or texts with the personalized AI character, users can freely talk, reproduce the content satisfying their personal taste, and get information about things that they are curious about.
A. can be interlocked not only with the music streaming app FLO and video streaming service Wavve, but also with a variety of other services, including driving navigation platform T Map, that are needed in daily life.
The new service features a highly advanced natural language processing and emotion analysis technology.
Based on the U.S.-based OpenAI’s Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3 (GPT-3) language model that can generate human-like text, it features the natural combination of everyday conversation and the processing of specific tasks requested by customers.
