SEOUL, March 17 (Korea Bizwire) — Seoul Metro, the operator of subway lines 1-8, announced Monday that it has taken more than 100,000 measures of disinfecting the subway to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
For 45 days since Jan. 27, when the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention elevated the country’s infectious disease alert to yellow, subway stations have been disinfected 67,530 times, and trains 34,301 times.
This includes a heart-moving story of 80 janitors donating 1.5 million won (US$1,200) to the Seoul Metropolitan Government to buy protective masks.
Subway broadcasts consoling passengers have also gained a positive response.
