SEOUL, Feb. 10 (Korea Bizwire) – On a recent Sunday morning in front of a middle school in Jung District, Seoul where a TOEIC English test was to be held, test takers lined up from building’s entrance to outside the school gate.
At the front of the line, exam invigilators wearing masks were checking the temperature of all test takers and making sure that everyone cleaned their hands properly with sanitizer.
Of course, the majority of test takers wore masks.
This sight was no doubt an accurate indicator of the current TOEIC test scene amid concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The Korea TOEIC Committee received a rare request for postponement of the test for those who wished to take it at a later date.
However, the test takers who were committed to completing the exam on the date scheduled came armed with masks.
Most job seekers could not delay taking the test any further as they are in the midst of applying for jobs during the traditional Korean ‘hiring season’.
