YEONGDONG, Jan. 4 (Korea Bizwire) — The World Fruit Garden located in the fruit theme park in Yeongdong, North Chungcheong Province, is gaining popularity as a winter getaway.
Since it opened two years ago, the garden has been filled with tropical and subtropical fruits, including bananas, pineapples, avocados, olives, guava, papaya, cherimoya and apple mangoes.
The garden features four-story vinyl greenhouses and temperatures rise as high as 25 degrees Celsius during the day.
Each plant has an information board that introduces its origin and features. There is also a place for visitors to rest.
The warm environment has made the garden a popular attraction during the cold weather. The garden is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and there is no admission fee. It is closed on Mondays.
In addition to the World Fruit Garden, there is a learning center, square, stage and wildflower garden. Within the theme park, visitors can experience many other plants and flowers, including a 100-year-old peer tree.
