SEOUL, Sept. 2 (Korea Bizwire)South Korean petrochemical company DL Chemical Co. announced on Wednesday that it is carrying out field tests for industrial packaging bags containing more than 35 percent of recycled raw materials.

The company said that by making use of next-generation metallocene polyethylene developed last year in the production of industrial packaging bags, it has boosted the usage rate of recycled raw materials up to the highest level in the petrochemical industry, while realizing the same performance as a new product.

The new material can maintain the recycling rate at 35 percent even if reproduction is repeated, thereby contributing to the establishment of a virtuous cycle structure for eco-friendly resources.

DL Chemical’s next-generation material features an improvement in toughness and rigidity compared to existing metallocene polyethylene.

Accordingly, it enables the production of industrial packaging bags that are tougher and 25 percent thinner than before.

Furthermore, processability and heat-sealability are greatly improved, contributing to reducing carbon emissions generated during the manufacturing process.

DL Chemical built a 250,000 ton next-generation material production plant at the national industrial complex in Yeosu early this year, aimed at better coping with the growing demand for eco-friendly products.
