SEOUL, Feb. 17 (Korea Bizwire) – In Seoul, the concentration of PM-10 (fine dust particles smaller than 10 micrometers in diameter) typically reaches its highest level shortly after commuting hours in the morning, a recent study showed.
A report by Prof. Heo Chang-hoe from Seoul National University published on Saturday showed that fine dust in Seoul reaches its maximum level between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Heo analyzed fine dust measurements collected from monitoring centers at 25 districts in Seoul and six major roads every fall and winter (October to February) between 2001 and 2018.
Fine dust reaches maximum levels as emissions from traffic during morning commuting hours turn into pollutants, the report explained.
