SEOUL, Jan. 30 (Korea Bizwire) — The First Republic of Korea Army (FROKA) opened the first book cafe at the 12th division general outpost(GOP), on the front line in Gangwondo. The FROKA has been continuing its campaign of implanting a reading culture in the army since last October, and has created a container book cafe with books donated by a director of the Seoul GS Eye Center and appliances that will provide a relaxing environment for soldiers who are interested in reading.
The FROKA will open several more book cafes this February with the help of five book donors. The ROK Army is currently planning to build book cafes at every GOP and picket by 2016, with total spending expected to reach 1.7 billion won (US$ 1.6 million)
