CHUNCHEON, Dec. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — Hoarfrost, tiny white ice crystals, covered the Soyang River in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province on Wednesday after temperatures dropped to new lows.
Mist floats over the river once the cold, humidity, and wind meet the right conditions, covering trees with hoarfrost.
Photographers flocked to the river’s banks early in the morning to wait for the sunrise, withstanding extreme temperatures hovering around minus 17 degrees Celsius to meet the hoarfrost.
The mist over the Soyang River gradually lifted as the sun rose, floating high above the water to cover nearby trees with an icy silver touch.
The hoarfrost began with reeds and water plants before spreading slowly over trees across the street.
Photographers were busy taking photos as they moved about a number of places to capture the best shot.
