HWASEONG, Sept. 6 (Korea Bizwire) — The city of Hwaseong, south of Seoul, announced that it will start offering a one-stop service for unregistered foreign workers to receive COVID-19 vaccinations.
Any unregistered foreign worker can visit a nearby COVID-19 testing center to receive a vaccination without having to make a prior reservation.
Foreigners over 30 years of age will receive Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine and those under 30 years of age will receive Pfizer Inc.’s.
“Undocumented foreign workers tend to avoid vaccinations or even tests as they are fearful of disadvantages derived from their immigration status,” a city official said.
There are currently 35,000 registered foreigners living in Hwaseong, with 7,100 undocumented workers estimated to live in the city.
