SEOUL, Jul. 2 (Korea Bizwire) – Hyundai Department Store announced on July 1 that it is introducing an AI-powered advertising designer called OneStep in collaboration with GiantStep, a company specializing in real-time content and generative AI solutions.

OneStep is a program that generates advertising images based on user-input event descriptions. For instance, when a user enters summer-related keywords like “beach” or “watermelon,” along with mood descriptors such as “relaxing” or “vacation,” the AI creates an image depicting a leisurely summer beach holiday scene.

The department store giant reported positive customer responses after a trial run of OneStep on its official online mall, TheHyundai.com, in May. The company noted that click-through rates nearly doubled compared to previous figures.

Building on this successful pilot, Hyundai Department Store plans to prioritize OneStep for creating advertising images on TheHyundai.com. The company is also considering expanding its application to offline promotional events in the future.

A representative from Hyundai Department Store explained, “The introduction of OneStep not only allows our employees to focus on more creative tasks but also enables us to deliver a more consistent and distinctive advertising visual style to our customers.”

This move is part of Hyundai Department Store’s broader push towards digital transformation, with AI applications being integrated across various operations. Last year, the company introduced Lewis, an AI copywriter specialized in creating marketing phrases, and JellBbo, an AI chatbot customer service. More recently, in June, the company began utilizing RTS, an AI-based customer behavior analysis program, for hyper-personalized marketing efforts.
