SEOUL, March 25 (Korea Bizwire) — The Jindo Sea in Korea parted and revealed a 2.8-kilometer-long dry seabed, which could be described as a modern day Moses’ miracle, welcoming 610,000 tourists from March 20 to 24. The mysterious event is actually an annual natural phenomenon unique to the Jindo Sea, and has been celebrated by the Jindo county office for more than 30 years. For its 37th festival, 86,462 foreign tourists gathered to walk down the sea route. It is estimated that revenue from ticket sales will reach 590 million won.
The festival also offered various traditional art performances, exhibitions and experience-based events. One of them involved the release of 1,000 balloons into the air from the beach.
