SEOUL, June 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Kakao Healthcare, a digital healthcare unit of South Korean tech giant Kakao Corp., said Thursday it has signed a contract with the U.S. medical device company DexCom, Inc. to enhance collaboration in blood glucose management services.
Both parties will offer digital blood glucose management services by leveraging their respective strengths, including software, artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) hardware capabilities.
Unlike traditional blood glucose monitoring methods, CGM enables the measurement of blood glucose levels by simply attaching the device to the body, eliminating the need for blood extraction.
Dexcom’s G7 CGM boasts a brief enzyme activation period for blood glucose measurement and exceptional measurement accuracy.
Kakao Healthcare aims to provide an ultra-personalized blood glucose management service through its platform, utilizing the data collected from CGMs and smart devices. The service is set to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
This will mark Kakao Healthcare’s inaugural product offering to the general public since its establishment.
