SEOUL, March 10 (Korea Bizwire)Kimchi is making frequent appearances in major media outlets in Latin America.

On March 4, an article titled “Kimchi, Food that Comforts the Soul,” was featured on the front page of El Sol de Mexico, a Mexican daily newspaper.

The article talks about how many South Korean households own two refrigerators, one solely for storing kimchi, to describe how important kimchi is to the Korean people.

Clarin, an Argentinian daily newspaper, also published an article on kimchi on March 7, explaining everything about the famous Korean side dish that has been gaining presence in the country.

The article featured in El Sol de Mexico was contributed by Park Young-doo, the director of the Korean Cultural Center in Mexico. The one published in Clarin was written by Cho Moon-haeng, head of Korean Cultural Center in Argentina.

Both articles speak of the importance of kimchi to the Korean people, without making explicit rebuttals to false arguments made by China that kimchi has Chinese origins.

They also explain that anyone can enjoy kimchi, posting photos of various fusion cuisines such as kimchi quesadillas, which appeared in El Sol de Mexico.

Kimchi also makes a perfect side dish for Argentinian choripan or other cuisines that use beef, Clarin said.
