SEOUL, June 1 (Korea Bizwire) — Korean Air Lines Co., the country’s top flag carrier, launched a new notification service on Monday for all international passengers departing from Incheon International Airport enabling them to check that their luggage is safely loaded onto the aircraft.
Passengers can use a Korean Air mobile app to see if their luggage made it inside the aircraft.
The app compares the barcode information of each piece of luggage generated during check-in with a scan data of all luggage loaded onto the aircraft to ensure that bags make it to the correct destination.
The app also enables passengers to see where their luggage is currently located.
This new service is available for all SkyPass program members using the Korean Air mobile application.
Korean Air plans to expand service coverage to include Korean Air flights departing from overseas airports.
The airline has showed enthusiasm for the development of new services using information technology in recent months. The company also introduced a KakaoTalk chatbot service in March.
