Location of BTS Music Video Gains Popularity

SEOUL, Jun. 21 (Korea Bizwire)Fans of BTS are flocking to the city of Jecheon in North Chungcheong Province to view its airfield, which featured prominently in one of the boyband’s music videos.

As more people show interest in Mosan Airfield, Jecheon city officials have linked the music video in question to the city’s official website.

In addition, the city’s website currently boasts a banner that reads, “Come to Jecheon, the filming location of BTS’ music video.”

Clicking on the lick allows users to access the band’s 2016 music video on YouTube titled “Epilogue: Young Forever.”

In the music video, members of BTS are seen walking down the runway of Mosan Airfield, a military training airfield that was founded in 1950 and is still a government facility.

Although the airfield is large enough to house civilian aircraft, the venue currently functions more as a public park after a portion of the land was designated for public use after negotiations between city and military officials.

The military granted the city permission to use and manage a portion of the land for free, on which the city plans to plant golden coreopsis and buckwheat flowers.

With the tarmac perfect for taking walks, the airfield is proving to be a peaceful resting place for local residents.

A restaurant and coffee shop have opened near the empty runway, offering tourists food and drinks to enjoy along with the view.

One city official said that the airfield had become more recognized thanks to the rise in BTS’ popularity.

“I hope that the airfield will attract visitors to other famous tourist sites in the region, such as Cheongpungho Lake and Uirimji Reservoir,” said the official.
