JINJU, April 15 (Korea Bizwire) —The ‘Cheonwon (1000 won) Breakfast’ program, which provides affordable and nutritious breakfasts to college students, is struggling to gain participation from universities in South Gyeongsang Province. Only one out of 23 universities in the province is currently participating in the program due to budgetary issues and uncertainty about demand.
Other universities in the region are reportedly struggling to set aside funds to participate in the program due to declining school-age populations. The provincial government is now preparing to launch its program with a budget of several billion won to encourage more universities to participate.
