SEOUL, June 6 (Korea Bizwire) — The number of users of mobile apps that take responsibility for household chores such as cleaning, laundry and various errands is on the rise, data showed Monday.
According to industry tracker WiseApp, the number of people who installed lifestyle service apps increased from around 1.2 million in April 2020 during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic to 3.5 million in the same month last year.
The app with the highest number of installations is Miso, which specializes in cleaning services.
It is followed by PleaseHelp, a comprehensive errand service provider, with 590,000 users, and CleanLab, a cleaning-specialized app, with 420,000 users.
In the mobile washing market, Wash Swat and Laundrygo, competing laundry services, were installed by 420,000 and 270,000 users, respectively.
Laundrygo, in particular, has registered an average annual growth of more than 85 percent in laundry orders since its launch in 2019.
Similarly, CleanLab, the home cleaning service, has enjoyed an average monthly growth of about 20 percent.
WiseApp noted that the growth of this market is mainly led by women in their 30s and 40s.
