SEOUL, Oct. 1 (Korea Bizwire) – With the temperatures dropping dramatically due to the autumn rain that fell today, fall seems to have made an official appearance.
The weather has cooled down, meaning that soon we will be able to see the beautiful autumn leaves.
Experts predict that the first sign of autumn leaves should be seen this week at Songnisan National Park. As the mountain tops start to change color, trees at higher elevations are expected to fully change color by October 11. A border of autumn leaves moving south should be present during the period.
Lower areas at a height of 600 to 900 meters above sea level are expected to change colors starting from October 12. Areas are expected to fully transform until early next month.
Officials from the Taebaek region in Gangwon Province, another famous location for autumn leaves, announced that they will host an autumn leaf festival in Chulam, where a colony of maple trees grows, from October 9 to 11.
Though the area is small, the colors of the crimson maple leaves are deep and strong. The scenery in the areas nearby is also beautiful, luring visitors. Photo contests, small concerts in the forest, and drawing contests are expected to be held during the event.
