SEOUL, Dec. 28 (Korea Bizwire) — South Koreans are coming up with various ways to quench the thirst for year-end celebrations as they are being obligated to stay at home due to the coronavirus.
Starting a new hobby or doing outdoor activities at home are becoming a new end-of-year tradition among families.
Lee, a 26 year-old office worker, started pipo painting ever since she was asked by her employer to work at home.
Pipo painting sets come with a design and a painting kit, with a ‘cheat sheet’ that helps you fill in the colors sorted by each number.
“Passing the time is much more enjoyable when I’m painting,” Lee said. “I’m glad that I was able to find a new hobby at home.”
As most end-of-year celebrations are being cancelled, more people are seeking to meet online.
Everytime, an online community at Seoul National University, will be hosting a contact-free meeting after more than 100 students responded positively to the idea of having an online party.
The party will invite students authorized by their school email address to join a Zoom conference anonymously.
Contact-free ‘blind dates,’ also using Zoom, are gaining popularity among office workers as well.
