SEOUL, Dec.8 (Korea Bizwire)Black Friday is still not over for those who made direct overseas purchases, as many have still not received the products they purchased from overseas online shopping malls.

As deliveries have been delayed due to the flood of orders, it is taking longer than usual for Korean consumers get their packages from the U.S. or Europe.

Mall Tail, the largest overseas delivery agent in Korea, explains that the usual delivery time is three to five days, although it sometimes stretches to as long as a week. However, they make an exception during the Black Friday period.

Officials at Mall Tail say that because logistics centers are overwhelmed even in the U.S., it is taking more time to get parcels to the local Mall Tail distribution center. Deliveries are expected to take twice as long as they usually take, and in some cases, they might take up to a month.

As the purchased products are arriving from overseas, customs officers at Incheon airport are also busy. Officials say that during the Black Friday period, there is a 20 to 30 percent increase in the number of items processed.

Direct overseas purchases are increasing more and more every year.

Mall Tail revealed that the number of deliveries they made from the purchases which occurred on Black Friday leaped 21.2 percent this year compared to the same period in the previous year.

I Porter, another delivery agency, also commented that the number of deliveries that occurred during the 24 hours from midnight, November 24 showed a 20 percent increase compared to last year.
