SEOUL, July 30 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korea Land and Housing Corp. (LH) has established a new system that uses drones to enhance the efficiency in checking and measuring construction sites and scrutinizing land compensation.
The state housing developer announced that it has been using drones at construction sites since 2018 and recently completed the establishment of a drone works platform.
The new platform is a system that enables the establishment of a database using the videos of national project districts taken by drones and processes the database in three-dimensional modeling to use it for the basic scrutiny of land compensation and the measurement of earthwork at construction sites.
The dual use of the aerial videos taken by drones together with topographic maps, land registration maps and design drawings allows users to compare and analyze the current state of land in a more stereoscopic manner.
The use of video streaming functions enables users to check the progress of construction in real time, thus contributing to the prevention of safety accidents.
The operational state of the drones owned by LH also can be managed comprehensively through this platform.
“With the videos taken by drones, we will improve the level of accuracy in land compensation-related work. The platform will also be upgraded next year to make it available for builders,” LH said.
